Enikő Daczó is a visual artist living in Transylvania, working in the genres of installations, photo-video & sound, land art, performance, and painting, which are closely related and complement each other in her art. Her works are primarily characterized by experimentation, interactivity, dynamics, playfulness, action, and an instinctive, intuitive presence. The representation and recording of air have often returned in her installations over the years. At the same time, she blows her love and pain into balloons or life-saving blankets, simultaneously referring to heaven and hell.
Her message becomes powerful due to her minimalism, her strange associations of material and content, her installations and manifestations often acquiring monumental dimensions. Breathing together with the space and integrating environmental elements into the work are most important in her art.
Her artworks are completed through the exploration of spirituality, eternity, and the ephemeral; the masculine and feminine (symbols), the constant cycle; and the duality of existence and nonexistence. She is preoccupied with sexuality and its ways of communication, gestures, mimicry – everything that is instinctive and authentic in them. She is sensitive to reflexes, desires, and fears embedded in social stereotypes, determining sexuality and especially womanhood. Faces, sexuality, the body: balloons, mirrors, nylon foils, rubber gloves, cables, and shoes are recurrent motifs in her art; they accompany, organize, and transluminate the series of her works – including installations and live art manifestations.
She likes her works to breathe. She likes fresh, energetic, spontaneous brushstrokes, and the power of gesture, with which she records emotions, feelings, ideas, and intuitions. She is interested in topics such as air, energy, vibration, woman and man, the power of NOW, and capturing the mood of the moment with minimal intervention. Through her extensive education, numerous exhibitions, and active participation in the art community, Enikő Daczó has established herself as a prominent figure in the contemporary art scene.
