Born in 1980, Hana has always had a unique relationship with art due to her upbringing in one of Egypt's most famous artistic families. From a very young age she was a student and assistant to her late father and one of Egypt's most beloved art teachers, the late Magd El-Sagini, but it took her 13 years to exclusively pursue her passion. Since her graduation from the faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University in 2001, she had a bright corporate career in multinational organizations in both Cairo & Dubai, which she wished goodbye in 2014 to join Metafora Academy of Contemporary art in Barcelona, and returning to establish her own Art School in Cairo, teaching young talents the love of art, both conceptually and in practice. Since then, she participated in several exhibitions in Cairo & Barcelona in 2015, 2016 & 2017. Hana held her debut Solo Exhibition “Moments” at the Zamalek Art Gallery in April 2018, and based on this body of work, she won “The Dean Collection Award” a grant for only 20 Artists around the world. She has also exhibited in ‘Something Else” Off Cairo Biennale’s second edition in November 2018. Hana El-Sagini is pursuing her love of Art with contemporary ideas and a modern mixing of mediums, combining painting, sculpture and mixed media into a single form that attempts to illustrate her understanding of time and memories.
