I was very blessed to have grown up in the beautiful Eastern part of the Netherlands as the youngest of three girls, and on top of that my parents took me for almost every holiday to Obertoggenburg in Switzerland! My fascination with mountains and water as a little girl started there and it hasn’t changed since. As a 19-year-old I attended a private fashion academy in Amsterdam, and after one year I switched to the HKLS in the South of the Netherlands to study drawing and painting and this way I could also be near my beloved grandmother and sister Patricia. My years during this time were lovely and I learned a lot. My career took me from graphic design to being a fulltime mother for eight years, to being a textile designer, a PA, an SAP specialist to being an Art teacher at a Waldorf school for the last seven years. Looking back on all, it is painting that really makes my heart sing and makes me feel like retirement is not at all necessary if I can paint for the rest of my life and enjoy the company of our children, family, and friends!
