Born in 1953 in Boulogne-sur-Mer, my childhood bathed on
the shores of the Channel which certainly influenced my artistic creation many
years later.
From 1970 to 1977 I studied mechanics at Boulogne sur Mer
high school and physical sciences at the faculty in Lille.
In 1979, following a meeting, I decided to become a
self-taught painter.
In 1981, my first works are hung in a gallery in Lille.
Since then many exhibitions follow one another, I meet
several famous artists like Hervé Télémaque, Kijno, Olivier Debré ...
In 1990, I made his first sculptures with the material
that I have always favored: paper.
Since then I have constantly questioned forms with a
constant: the use of paper.
My many installations are seen in singular places: the
Cloister of Penitents in Rouen, the Abbey of Jumièges, the Priory of Manthes,
the Abbey of Nottonville, the Saint-Julien Chapel in Petit-Quevilly, the Hôtel
de Région in Rouen and in galleries in Nantes, Lyon, Grenoble, Paris, Brussels.
Currently I am represented at the Art 4 Gallery in Caen and at the Autre
Production Gallery in Le Havre. In 2017 one of his sculptures was selected for
the International Paper Triennial at the Charmey Museum in Switzerland. Now it
is part of the collection "Art Paper" of the museum.
In 2019, I am
invited to the International Linen Biennial of Portneuf in Quebec, which allows
me to produce a sculpture installation of paper and linen
In 2020, I am participating again in the Charmey Triennale
In 2021 and 2022, my sculptures shells are exhibited at Arte Laguna Prize, Arsenal Nord, Venice, Italy and at the International Paper Biennale, Shanghai Museum, China
In 2023, I am once again invited to the 10th International Linen Biennale in Portneuf, Quebec.
To conclude all my sculptures have to do with his
childhood memories and especially the marine environment and with the mythology
of nature that surrounds his studio.
My work is an intuitive walk through the history of Nature
(forms, traces, footprints)
My work feeds on the Primitive to apprehend today and the day
after tomorrow.
