Ana Ortuño Candela (Anica) is a photographer and visual artist. Born in Murcia (SE Spain) in 1981, she graduated in History of Art from the University of Barcelona, with a one-year residency at the DAMS faculty (Roma Tre Univ.). Further studies include 3 years of training at the Center D'Estudis Cinematográfics de Catalunya (CEEC), specializing in film photography, and a Master's degree in Journalism at Agencia EFE (2008).
She has worked as a assistant photographer for Chema Conesa (Fábrica Editorial and El Mundo newspaper). She documented the Saharan refugee camps for AECID (Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation). .
Currently, she is an adjunct professor at the Carlos III University of Madrid, teaching Journalism and Audiovisual Communication, and keeps her journalistic activity as a photographer for theaters (Takta, Cáceres), as a film assistant and producing promotional videos for different companies. Anica's work has always turned around communication, visual arts and creative education.
