Cristie Boff (Porto Alegre, Brazil, 1976) lives and works in Florence, Italy. A visual artist with a degree from the Academy of Art of Florence, she does contemporary paintings while researching classical techniques- for instance, by employing rabbit-glue as the structure and foundation to all her paintings. Her work has been featured in group shows at institutions including Ibere Camargo Foundation(2021), the MACRS Museum of Contemporary Art (Landscape in Two Tones, 2018) and the IEVA Visual Arts Institute (Out of Color, 2021) and she had her first solo show, Existence, at the Santa Casa Cultural Center (Porto Alegre,2019).
Cristie first took up art in 1997, joining the Italian Academy in Florence and honing her research into classical painting processes. Her conceptual and aesthetic exercises led her into goldsmithing, which she has been doing for the past few decades. She studied Goldsmithing at Accademia Riaci in Florence and then took courses in Contemporary Jewellery in Florence (2000) and Brazil (2008). She reconnects with painting and turns exclusively to art-making in 2015, in which year she graduates from the Academy of Art of Florence.
