I am Garry Arzumanyan- a self-taught artist whose paintings have been exhibited in Netherlands, the United States, Australia, Slovenia, France, Italy, Russia, Serbia, Belarus, and Armenia.
The art created by me stands out for peculiar allegories. My paintings clearly illustrate my symbolic system, which was formed in the philosophical and allegorical fields. However, the core of my creativity is a person with his subconscious ideas and feelings. I use the element of the sea to make the feelings of an intelligent being more tangible and visible․
What if it is not the sea that makes us part of the spiritual world in the easiest and most relaxed way?
Variability of clouds and sea, smooth change of color tone, penetration of sunlight, transitions of blue color from fading gray to green combined with an emotional white color react to the mentality and feelings of his human characters․ The essence of surrealist painting is to convey the feelings of the subconscious․ In this regard, I manage to create more clearly and sincerely comparison between my vision and reality․
My compositions are created with oil, pencils, and charcoal on canvas or paper. Born in Armenia and from early childhood inspired by the works of Ivan Aivazovsky and Francis Bacon, I became a multiple winner of various competitions since childhood.
Many people think I do paint a sea, water, ocean. I don't really depict it. I depict the man, using a sea, ocean, water and other nautical imageries. I paint people with their weak and strong, dark and light sides, people with their fears, people with their dreams.
