I have studied at several design schools and I have a Master in both Graphic Design and Industrial Design among many other subjects. I have worked much with digital channels and media. When I was younger I also studied other art subjects, like painting, printing, drawing, photography and learned how to work with wood, glass, textile and silver. I have also studied art history and history of ideas, and besides contemporary art Ím specially attracted to Italian, French and Flemish art from the 13th to the 17th century.
I create images out from free images found on Internet together with my own photographs, paintings and drawings. My images becomes a transition and merging of places, times and meaning. History, present and future coexists in overlapping and intertwined layers. This is the essence of the cyber world - time, space, collective and private collapses into an all present Now.
I find a fascination in the concept of using images that are freely available to anybody and a part of our collective world of stories. Together with my own photos and drawings they could create a world that both are a part of everybody's heritage and in the same time very personal and subjective, and related just to my own memories and associations.
I look for meaning, interactions and aesthetics in all the images I encounter. All my pictures are narratives, with an inherent meaning that you have to find and create yourself. They are starting points for contemplation, association and imagination. The meaning and aesthetics of the images evolve and change during my work process. I never know where the story and aesthetic will end.
I don´t want to break with history, but include and reinterpret it in my works.
Ím also fascinated by the fact that by working digitally the images can be reproduced in any size, on any material (even if I mostly produce them on Fine Art or Photographic paper), even made by robots to create murals, carpets, glass, plastic, textile, 3D, animations and so on. The material and presentation of them becomes a part of the story.
