Jaime Daniel Arce was born in 1963 in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He grew up in the suburbs of Buenos Aires and in the countryside in the province of Córdoba. Already as a child, through the influence of his father, he approached the constructive knowledge with which he carried out small engineering works in his hours of play. In his adolescence he helped his uncle in his mechanic workshop while discovering his passion for cars. He completed his secondary studies at the Raggio Technical School from which he graduated as Master Builder. Later he entered the career of Graphic Design at the Universidad de Buenos Aires where he graduated as a Graphic Designer and at the same time studied photography at that University. Then He studied Fashion Design and specialized in Fashion Photography. Once he graduated, he began to work as a professor of Fashion design, photography and fashion image and also Costume Design.
Later and as part of his interest in the subject of image, he entered the career of Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires. Upon his graduation he worked as a producer in different music videos for Argentine and international productions such as MTV and for 6 years in the same role for NHK, Fuji Television and Nippon TV.
In addition, he worked as a teacher of Art and Contemporary Art in the Public School with students of 16 and 17 years old, his intention was to promote knowledge and enthusiasm for art in young people. In the audiovisual medium he makes five short films as a director.
After this, he decided to expand his knowledge towards art and entered the workshop of the artist Valeria Vizzioli, it is there where he discovered sculpture as a mode of expression that returns him to his roots. At the beginning of his artistic creation he experiments with a number of materials and shapes, including recycled materials, found objects, welds and treatments.
One of his first themes was motorsport, the material chosen for his works were parts of car bodies in disuse. His works represent cars, boats, human forms in different series and materials. He is currently experimenting with artistic photography, video art and experimental sound. Inspired by abstraction, in the future cyberpunk and noir-futurism, looking for a sound and visual palette that poetically represents a dystopic future that catches the viewer.
Inspired by his knowledge in photography and design, he participates with designer Gabriel Mariansky in the contest: 25th anniversary of the Pan-American School of Art and received the award: Best young artists of the year of the Nation awarded by the Secretary of Culture of the Nation Argentina.
He was selected to participate in the book Argentine Photographers with material of his authorship.
He won first prize in the Small Format-Art Digital Photography contest of the Yukio Mishima Cultural Center.
He participates in several collective and individual exhibitions and as a sculptor he received a first mention at the Art Biennial of the University of Morón (Buenos Aires).
Some of his works are in Argentina, USA, Bolivia and Chile in private collections. He currently resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
