Karine Andriasyan is a multidisciplinary artist from Moscow, Russia. She was born in 1967 in Vladikavkaz in the South of Russia but grew up in Yerevan, Armenia where she had her higher education and a degree in History and English Language. Karine has traveled extensively around Europe and other countries. She speaks fluent English.
Her full-time artist career began in 2018 after she had realized that painting was everything that she wanted to do, and committed herself to arts.
Starting as a representational painter, with watercolors she soon found herself constrained by the rules of the medium, and moved on to explore her potential and the possibilities of acrylics and oils and mixed media as well as felt compelled to communicate something beyond conventional visual language and allowed herself to explore abstraction, push boundaries, and communicate her vision beyond the traditional imagery.
She admits that she finds abstraction more challenging but also a more authentic way to express the excitement she finds in playing and experimenting with the power and potential of color, line, form, space, light, and textures.
Being a keen learner of arts, Karine studies from old masters and synthesizes that knowledge and inspiration to create something authentic to her own vision.
Karine actively participates in the artistic community of Moscow, takes part in local and international workshops, exhibitions and competitions. She works in the studio as well as en Plein air, traveling to paint and seeking inspiration in exciting locations.
In 2021 she was awarded the 1st prize in Abstract nomination, in the international art show Vanguard Today, Moscow.
She was also selected to show her artworks in the top-100 Russian watercolor artists' show.
Karine’s paintings can be found in private collectors in the USA, France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Russia, and Armenia.
