Barbara is working with blown glass to create an aesthetic that moves her. She constructs vessels using the Incalmo method: fusing two or more blown glass elements.

Collage is secondary to her 3D making. It is an ideas/sketching/planning/inspirational thing. An automaton response to an idea that is trying to emerge, almost done blindfolded. When it emerges, so does an understanding of its roots. 

Recent work: 'In The Balance' – an assemblage of glass and found objects. A rejection of trends. 

She studied at Plymouth College of Art, completing a BA in Ceramics and Glass in June 2018
